How to get to Quilotoa Beach?
To get to Quilotoa's Beach (Playita del Quilotoa) you must do the "Quilotoa Lagoon Trail". This trail begins at the main entrance of Quilotoa with a descent route that will take an average of 45 minutes to 1 hour to the shores of the lake. While the return depends on the physical condition of each person. The average time is 1 to 3 hours of ascent to reach the top. Trail is a "worn bare earth path".
If you run out of energy and courage, you can return to the summit by renting a horse at the shore of lagoon.

Quilotoa Beach (Playita de Quilotoa) is part of the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve and is managed by official government personnel. You can explore this magical zone respecting the entry rules that protect area. Your collaboration is important to help us protect and conserve the area.

- Please respect marked trails in the area.
- Pets are prohibited.
- Do not bring alcoholic beverages.
- Take care of flora and fauna of the ecosystem.
- Do not throw garbage or debris.
- Fires and Bonfires are prohibited.
How much does it cost to enter Quilotoa Beach?
There is no cost to entry to Quilotoa Beach or to the Trail of Quilotoa Lagoon. Registration is required on main cabin located at entrance. No reservation needed. Access can be limited per day.

Quilotoa Beach Trails
Walk around some natural paths in the Quilotoa Beach such as the Garza Pamba trail, several viewpoints and couple decorative statues located close to the lake.
Sail the Quilotoa Lagoon
To sail the volcano lake of Quilotoa you can rent a Kayak to explore the waters at your own pace. Also you could rent a spot on a motor boat for a guided 25 minutes ride or take the same boat to go around the Quilotoa lagoon completely for an extra fee and an estimated time of 1 hour. Camping at Quilotoa Beach

Do I need permission to visit the Quilotoa Beach?
Authorization or reservation is not required to access the Quilotoa Beach (Playita Quilotoa). However, the availability of the camping area depends on current ocupacy. You have to register your visit in the guardian's cabin (you may be asked for personal identification).
Restrictions may apply due to bad weather conditions, maintenance, emergencies, etc.
What to bring to camp at Quilotoa?

- ✓ Sleeping bag for -5°C.
- ✓ Camping mattress (sponge or inflatable).
- ✓ Food and drink provisions.
- ✓ Flashlights, hat and gloves for the cold.

Throughout the year, the night in Quilotoa can be cold, cloudy and windy (0°C – 15°C). While during the day, you can have sunny day, clear skies in the early hours and fog in the evening.

- There are bathrooms on shore at the lagoon.
- Do not attempt to swim or enter the lagoon.
- The water of the lagoon is not suitable for human consumption.
