Quilotoa is the volcano on the westernmost side of the Northern Andes and is known for the impressive natural lake in its crater, known as the -Quilotoa Lagoon-. The Quilotoa volcano is located in the central area of ​​the Ecuadorian mountains, on the Avenue of the Volcanoes.

The Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve is the protected area where Quilotoa and other natural attractions are located.

LOS ILINIZAS ECOLOGICAL RESERVE

The "Los Ilinizas Ecological Reserve" is divided into 4 sections. The largest section is located to the west, where the canyon canyon and springs of Toachi River originate. To the northeast is the area of the Corazón Volcano and the Iliniza Volcano. To the southwest, is a vast territory composed of forests and Andean moorland (Páramos). Finally, the 800-hectare stretch that surrounds the entire perimeter of the Quilotoa Lagoon-Volcano.
